I'm giving up on livejournal. I never get any comments and havent posted in ages (mainly because of that). I got a new philosophy.nu blog so if you're a friend and have a p.nu blog and want to be friends just comment and Ill add you. Be warned, an actual (or even fleeting) interest in my life is necessary and this isnt just a way to get me to comment on yours.Current Mood: apathetic Current Music: Will You Please Be There For Me - The Reindeer Section

New layout here, can't get this font to be any smaller so im sorry its ridiculously big. Feeling amazingly good today. I slept so so well and so im just in a great mood. Have a slight bit of a headache though so ill head back to the house soon, its too cold here for me. Went to the cinema twice this weekend, had dates with two gorgeous men (!). On Friday I went to see Alexander with Owen and last night I saw Closer with Aidan. Alexander was incredibly disappointing, this guy conquered a half of the known world, I had expected something a bit more..epic. Closer was brilliant, I really enjoyed it. And no Emily, I didn't see it with my Mum!! Am getting very cold and headache is slowly worsening so I think ill head back to my warm house and prepare for my Politics test tomorrow which i've nothing done for yet!

Having issues with my roommate in that she's treating me like absolute crap for no reason. It started when she just decided to ignore me whenever her friends are around and then be really nice when its just the two of us. It happened before the Christmas break but I thought "new year, new mood" but no, its the same. So I just stopped talking to her and she's being a total bitch since, she always has her friends around and from the way they treat me too I'm sure she's bitching about me. I don't care to be honest its just if she didnt like me that's fine, but she can at least be civil, I mean we do have to LIVE together? I thought I left all this stupid secondary school bullshit behind but evidently she just had to bring it along with her. She's one of those incredibly loud 'me me me' people so I suppose it's to be expected. Damn I hate going home.

I'm feeling pretty bad right now. It's like theres a huge weight over me and I can't get rid of it. Im suffocating with all the horrible stuff that's been happening to me and then with other bad stuff that's going on in everyone else's lives. It seems like the world is falling apart for everyone, me included, and im trying to fix everyone elses problems while mine get worse. I can't believe what's been going on in my life and how much ive been just thrown around by everyone, my friends included. On top of all this i have an exam to get through next week. I can't deal with this.

I was silly to think I could outrun it. It hit me today, as hard and cold as it used to be. That hollow, empty feeling. It overwhelmes me every time. I had to just go home, I couldnt be around people like this. I suppose the distraction of college and new people couldnt last forever and I would have to go back to being who I really am. I dont know, I suppose I thought I could shake it off. It feels so awful.

» The Presents Game
Made by Janet: STEP ONE
Make a post to your LJ (or journal/blog). The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for ___ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
STEP TWO
Surf around your friends list or other sites (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MY LIST
1. Anything from my AmazonWishlist 2. Books, especially if its one you loved and want me to read. 3. Teddies or anything small and cute 4. Any kind of graphic present, avatars, wallpaper etc 5. DVD's, CDs... 6. A surprise

I hate Thursdays. My classes are so screwed up:
10am Politics 12pm Sociology 2pm Social Policy
I almost wish they were all just after each other so I could be done for the day!
The Ball was just amazing. I had such a good time and its *always* nice to be able to get all dressed up. You could tell the boys were just delighted with themselves when they put their tuxes on. Ill write a full account soon, have to run to my Sociology about 2 minutes ago!

» Strauss Ball
I can finally breathe a sigh of relief after such a busy day! Five of us are going to the Strauss Ball tomorrow night. Its organised by the L&H, the UCD debating society. It's actually a ball, complete with tuxes and gowns. Originally it was myself, Luke, Laura and Aidan going and then Aidan txted me last night to say he had no money to pay and couldnt go. I talked to Luke today and we decided it was just not possible that he couldnt go. Aidan and Luke are finalists in the Maidens Debating competition that the L&H are running so for no other reason that that, they deserve both to be there! So today when Luke and I convinced our other friend, Owen to come...well that just sealed it, Aidan had to come. So Luke and I played puppet masters today dealing with the society to keep tickets and places and other people to get money off to subsidise Owens ticket. We split the cost of Aidans between us and eventually by 3pm today we had everyone sorted. I for one am very proud of us for not only getting them to go (and spend €65 on a ticket) but then for arranging it so they could get places and tickets, even if they have to pay back later. I'm really looking forward to it, its like the Debs all over again but really fancy. Ill report back after the night!

Twenty-nine pearls in your kiss, a singing smile, coffee smell and lilac skin, your flame in me. Twenty-nine pearls in your kiss, a singing smile, coffe smell and lilac skin, your flame in me. I'm only here for this moment. I know everybody here wants you. I know everybody here thinks he needs you. I'll be waiting right here just to show you
How our love will blow it all away. Such a thing of wonder in this crowd, I'm a stranger in this town, you're free with me. And our eyes locked in downcast love, I sit here proud, Even now you're undressed in your dreams with me. I'm only here for this moment. I know everybody here wants you. I know everybody here thinks he needs you. I'll be waiting right here just to show you How our love will blow it all away. I know the tears we cried have dried on yesterday The sea of fools has parted for us there's nothing in our way, my love Don't you see, don't you see? You're just the torch to put the flame to all our guilt and shame, And I'll rise like an ember in your name. I know, I know, I know everybody here wants you. I know everybody here thinks he needs you. I'll be waiting right here just to show you Let me show that love can rise, rise just like embers. Love can taste like the wine of the ages, babe. And I know they all look so good from a distance, But I tell you I'm the one. I know everybody here thinks he needs you, thinks he needs you And I'll be waiting right here just to show you.

» Halloween Happy!
Right now im just avoiding doing my Social Policy essay. Ive spent the whole weekend alone, at home. I have to say im liking not having my parents nagging at me but there's nothing big going on here. I got sick again during the week and this weekend Im just trying to recover and be healthy and ready for college again. Tomorrow night is Halloween woo! I'm going back to Dublin early tomorrow. I *so* hope that there's something going on tomorrow night. I've been killing myself trying to think of a costume because its always fun to dress up! I went as a witch last Wednesday to the Halloween Ball but there were a lot of witches at that party so i want to be different. I didn't have time to buy a proper costume but I finally decided today. I'm going to go as a proper lady. I've got a corset, a skirt with a type of train at the back and a fan. Everyone always calls me "one of the lads" so Its a totally different thing for me. I'll have my hair up and curled bangs. Hopefully it'll look well anyway! Halloween rocks!
